Rules

Racer Classification

Racers will compete in classes divided by age and ability level. These classes are as follows:

  • Class 30: Age 18 to 39
  • Class 40: Age 40 to 49
  • Class 50: Age 50 to 59
  • Class 60: Age 60 to 69
  • Class 70: Age 70 and up
  • Expert Open

Age will be determined by a competitors age on the first scheduled day of competition.

There will be no more than SEVEN competitors in each class.

Men and women will compete together in classes based on their ability as determined by the seeding process.

Seeding

Unseeded (new) racers will be seeded into a class within their age group from the best of two runs in the Giant Slalom race.

Unseeded racers will be competing for medals in the Giant Slalom race against other unseeded racers in their age group.

Any racer may request to be placed in the Expert class.

Dual Slalom

A racer's best time in the Slalom event will be used to seed the Dual Slalom. The following will qualify for the Dual Slalom event:

  • 8 fastest racers from Expert Open, Expert Class 30 and Expert Class 40
  • 8 fastest Skiers over age 50 will compete in 50 Expert Dual
  • 8 fastest Class30
  • 8 fastest Class40
  • next 8 fastest Class50, Class 60 and Class70
  • 8 fastest snowboarders (16) if we have at least 30 snowboard competitors

Team Competition

The Team competition will consist of 4 competitors from the same Fire or Police Department.

Team entry form and entry fee must be turned in at registration.

Team members will accumulate points in Cross Country, Giant Slalom, Slalom, Dual Slalom, Super G.

Points will be awarded based on how each racer places in their own class.

  • Gold Medal = 4 points
  • Silver Medal = 3 points
  • Bronze Medal = 2 points
  • 4th Place = 1 point

Overall Trophy

Points are awarded in each event based on how a competitor places within their class in Cross Country, Giant Slalom, Slalom and Special G.S.

  • Gold Medal = 25 points
  • Silver Medal = 20 points
  • Bronze Medal = 15 points
  • 4th Place = 12 points
  • 5th Place = 11 points
  • 6th Place = 10 points
  • 7th Place = 9 points-
  • 15th Place = 1 point

Competitors must finish and have an official result in Cross Country, Giant Slalom, Slalom, and Super G (Only one run in each of the alpine events needs to be completed to earn points.)
